In the era of 6G and beyond, network infrastructure will expand its role beyond connectivity to become intelligent, data-driven systems that support industry, utilities, public safety, and autonomous transportation. To ensure that this evolution is sustainable, the NGA’s 6G Sustainability KPI Database provides a comprehensive, cross-industry catalogue of environmental impact categories and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to 6G infrastructure. These metrics encompass the most common environmental impact domains currently in use and anticipate the future needs of 6G deployments across core, RAN, edge/cloud, user equipment, and supply-chain building blocks.
This database is a living resource curated by the Next G Alliance Sustainable Development Working Group. It will be periodically updated to reflect emerging metrics, new infrastructure paradigms, and lifecycle innovations. Currently this database includes environmental sustainability focused KPI, however in the future KPIs focused on societal impacts may be included. Users are encouraged to provide feedback and contribute additional KPI suggestions to ensure the relevance of this initiative is broad, spanning North America and the international community.
